Yesterday I finally got to spend some time with Livingstone reviewing the album mixes so far. Making a record is a complicated business but this is definitely the fun part especially when someone else is moving the faders. They sound amazing. I've been recording the tracks for a few months now so it's refreshing to hear someone else's take on it. For one thing he's replaced my dodgy upright bass programming with some spectacular real live playing but he's done what all great producers do, he's found the heart and soul of each song, let it out and made it shine. There are still 4 of the 13 tracks left to go, then some finessing but I couldn't be happier so far and we're on track to wrap things up by the end of the month and get the finished masters off to the pressing plant in time for the launch in October.
I finally did my livestream show last night. I had to put it back a week because of bloody covid but better late than never. I love doing them. The commute couldn't be easier and friends can drop in from anywhere in the world. They stay up on Facebook basically for ever so you can click photo and check it out if you like.
My gig diary is up to date on the web site but there are a couple of very exiting gigs coming up over the next few weeks. On Sunday 20th August I'm playing the Rustic Stage at Weyfest, click on the picture to find the event details but Weyfest is a big deal, loads of great artists on the different stages so you should definitely check it out. Jools Holland is doing the main stage later on that Sunday!
Then on 15th September I'm supporting the fabulous Seth Lakeman at the Hogs Back Brewery.
See you soon.
